The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri State has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state.
The governor had made this announcement on Sunday afternoon after vandals stole several valuables from two warehouses in the state.
According to reports, the reprobates had been looting individual-owned shops and attacking residents before security operatives stepped in and attempted to restore order.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, had released a statement saying that the curfew was imposed in light of the activities of the hoodlums across Yola, the state capital.
The statement further clarified that movement will be hindered statewide and only persons on essential duties would be allowed to move freely during this period, provided they were with valid identification.
The governor finally, appealed to the residents to comply with the directive, adding that any person(s) found violating the order would be arrested and duly prosecuted.
