In a jaw-dropping showdown that had the crowd on the edge of their seats, Australia, defying all odds and silencing French boasts, emerged triumphant against the odds, knocking Les Bleues out of the Women’s World Cup in a nerve-wracking quarter-final clash. Co-hosts Australia etched history in Brisbane on Saturday night, edging past France 7-6 in a heart-pounding penalty shootout.

Coach Herve Renard acknowledged the exceptional effort of his team, acknowledging the twists of fate that shape football outcomes.
