Russia’s Foreign Ministry strongly denounced what it labelled as a “terrorist attack” by Ukraine on the Crimean Bridge, expressing concern over the endangerment of innocent civilians and asserting that a retaliatory response is imminent.
Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova communicated via a statement on the Telegram messaging app, “There is no justification for such heinous acts, and they will not be left unanswered.”
In an earlier announcement, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that its military had successfully thwarted a rocket attack by Ukrainian forces on the 12-mile (19 km) bridge. This bridge serves as a link between Russian-annexed Crimea and Russia across the Kerch Strait.
The same ministry disclosed that Russian armed forces had also managed to intercept multiple Ukrainian drones that were aimed at the peninsula.
