Lauretta Onochie, the ex-chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Lauretta Onochie has refuted reports that she had been ejected from her apartment in the United Kingdom.

Reports had spread like wildfire on Saturday, September 2, claiming that Onochie was shamefaced and had been stranded after she was ejected by family members.

But Onochie had reacted to the ‘rumours’ on Sunday, August 3, denying the claims that she was stranded.

According to Onochie, her cousin whom she had housed had attempted to take her home but after a fight, she recovered her house once more.

She had posted on the social media platform X, “WHAT A BATTLE, I RECOVERED MY HOME.
“My Cousin, Victor Ashiedu Fejokwu and his wife, Ruth Emereze had been stranded, in fact, almost homeless at one time. I pitied them, and took them in, and housed them in my home.
However, a year ago, when I was still making plans to continue accommodating them, the duo blocked my phone line. I had no access to my letters, leading to quite a number of missed appointments.”

Ms. Onochie also highlighted that the pair went further to install bolts to her home, in order to deny her entry.

“They ceased contributing to the house rent even though they still had jobs, desiring to host lavish parties.”
