In a twist of events concerning the late Nigerian artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, a petition has surfaced online. MohBad had allegedly written this petition, detailing an alleged threat to his life by music promoter Samson Erinfolami Balogun, also known as Sam Larry, and a group of individuals.

The petition claims that Sam Larry, along with 15 others, reportedly armed themselves and disrupted a video shoot involving the deceased and fellow artist Zlatan Ibile. They allegedly not only threatened violence but also caused extensive damage, destroying equipment valued at over N5 million at the scene. Furthermore, the petition asserts that they physically assaulted MohBad, who narrowly escaped with injuries.

Adding a layer of intrigue, Sam Larry allegedly claimed to be acting on behalf of Oba Elegushi of Lagos State. The petition urgently implores, “Sir, I call on your good office to save my life from the above-mentioned persons and bring them to book.”

MohBad, who was under the banner of Marlian Records owned by singer Naira Marley, passed away on September 12, 2023. The petition itself is dated June 27, 2023.

In MohBad’s words, “During the assault, they were boasting that they work for Oba Elegushi and that they have been asked to deal with me for reasons best known to them which till date they are still threatening to kill me if seen. Sir, I call on your good office to save my life from the above mentioned persons and bring them to book.”

To clarify the situation, the Elegushi Royal Family of Eti-Osa, Lagos State, issued a statement disassociating themselves from music promoter Samson Balogun. They emphasized that Samson Balogun is not a member of the royal family and does not hold any official position within the family or with the king.

The statement from the Royal Family reads, “While expressing our condolence to the family and friends of late Ilerioluwa Aloba (known as MohBad) we would like to add our voices to the calls for a thorough investigation into circumstances surrounding his death to unravel any foul play.”

This complex and controversial situation leaves one pressing question: What truly led to MohBad’s untimely demise? The mystery surrounding his passing demands careful examination and thorough investigation.
