Governor Sanwo-Olu Re-Assigns Two Special Advisers

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State has re-assigned two newly-appointed Special Advisers.

This move was revealed through a statement that was issued on Friday by the Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

Muri-Okunola had remarked that the redeployment was broadcast during the 2023 on-boarding retreat program for the just-sworn in members of Lagos State Executive Council–SEC, and body of Permanent Secretaries.

The State Head of Service had said that the Special Adviser on Health, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya from the Ministry of Health, had been re-assigned to work at the Office of the Sustainable Development Goals–SDGs.

Sanwo-Olu also re-assigned Abiola Olowu who had been working at the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment to the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, was now the new Special Adviser, for the Office of Mineral Resources.

According to Muri-Okunola, the changes would take effect immediately, and that the Special Adviser, for Works, would operate under the Office of Lagos State Deputy Governor.

Sanwo-Olu had on Wednesday, September 13, sworn in 37 commissioners and special advisers as the newest members of the SEC and had promptly given them their portfolios.

The cabinet members includes 23 commissioners and 14 special advisers.
