An unfixed number of residents of Otukpo in Benue State, have died after they were reportedly shot at by gunmen alleged to be armed robbers.
Reports had gathered that the gunmen attacked several banks in Otukpo at around 3 pm on Friday, October 20 and began firing sporadically.
An eyewitness by name Sunday Abah, who spoke with newsmen had said that the gunmen had been operating for several hours with no security intervention.
As at the time of writing this report, Abah had revealed that Zenith bank was being robbed and the robbers had been robbed for over three hours.
DSP Catherine Anene Sewuese, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, could not be reached to get her statement as of the time of filing this report.
