Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele has said that she doesn’t regard her two failed marriages as “failures.”
While speaking in an interview with Wazobia FM, Lagos, Akindele had explained that her mother instructed her that without failure, there could never be success in a person’s life.
According to the actress, she just takes marriage “as it comes,” stressing that her mental health and career were more important to her.
The thespian additionally highlighted that her priorities wee to live an impactful life and cater for her children and siblings.
“If you ask me now can you tell me one failure, I don’t see it as a failure. My personal life – marriage, I just take it as it comes. My mental health is very important. My career is very important, darling.
“I am eager to make an impact. I have to emancipate a lot of people. I have to inspire the Nigerian youths. I have to stay strong for my kids and my siblings. Why else am I living? I have a purpose, so my head will be up. I cry, I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say, ‘keep moving,’” she said.
