The police command in Kano State has revealed that the Divisional Police Headquarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area has been razed by fire.
Mr Hussaini Gumel, the State Commissioner of Police had told NAN in Kano on Monday that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday.
‘At about 5.45 am the Divisional Police headquarters was overwhelmed by fire and a major part of the building was razed down completely. This is despite the prompt response by the State Fire Service.’
Gumel revealed that an inquiry had been launched to undo the cause of the fire.
“The area has been blockaded off to bar intrusion by onlookers and miscreants, and thankfully, the arms and ammunition in the office are very safe.”
