Sunday Adeyemo, a Yoruba Nation agitator who is popularly known as Igboho, had on Friday, said he only came back to Nigeria thanks the power of God.

Igboho had made the remark while accusing former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari of making attempts to assassinate him.

According to him, Buhari had sent the Department of State Services, DSS, and soldiers to kill him at his house.

As he addressed his followers in Oyo State, the freedom fighter alleged that his agitation against Fulani herders killing of farmers in the Southwest was one of the reasons to assassinate him.

Igboho had said:
“Buhari sent his soldiers and DSS to apprehend me in my house because I said Yorubas are not slaves to Fulanis, they cannot suppress us in our father’s land.”

The freedom fighter had returned to Nigeria on Thursday, ahead of his mother’s burial in Saki, Oyo State.
Igboho has been out of his motherland since 2021 when he fled to Benin Republic after he was declared wanted by the DSS.

The DSS had descended on his residence in the Soka, Oyo State but he managed to escape.

The secret police had declared him wanted over his agitation for Yoruba Nation and attacks on Fulani herders blamed for killing farmers in the Southwest.

In Benin Republic where he had fled to, Igboho was arrested and remanded while trying to travel to Germany.
But, he recently regained his freedom after two years in a Beninoise prison.
