In a thrilling finish at the City Ground, Liverpool secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table. The win, however, came at a cost as the Reds continue to battle through a challenging period riddled with injuries.

Liverpool, missing key players like Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, were put to the test by a determined Nottingham Forest side. Despite their depleted squad, the Reds showed immense resilience and never gave up the fight.

The game remained scoreless until the dying moments when Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez emerged as the hero. In the 99th minute, Nunez rose above the Forest defense to head home a cross from Alexis Mac Allister, sending Liverpool fans into a frenzy.

This dramatic victory puts Liverpool four points clear of Manchester City, who face their rivals Manchester United tomorrow. It also strengthens their grip on the top spot, placing them five points ahead of Arsenal before their upcoming match.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest remain in a precarious position, hovering just four points above the relegation zone. The club also faces the additional pressure of a potential points deduction due to financial rule breaches.

This win exemplifies the character and determination of Liverpool, who continue to defy expectations even when faced with adversity. As the Premier League season enters its final stages, the fight for the championship title promises to be an exciting one, with Liverpool firmly in the driving seat.
