The Nigerian Military revealed that the pupils were rescued from Zamfara State where their abductors had taken them.

Addressing newsmen on Monday, the information minister praised the National Security Adviser, NSA, and the service chiefs for the role they played in securing the release of the schoolchildren.

President Bola Tinubu has asked security agencies to increase efforts to ban the menace of kidnapping across the country.

According to Idris:
“As promised by Mr President, they have been rescued. No ransom was paid.

The President has also charged security agencies to make sure abductions are brought to a halt, and all the perpetrators of kidnapping will be fished out and punished.”
