Yahaya Bello continues to be at the center of Nigerian politics, captivating the nation with his ongoing drama. The former Kogi State governor faces accusations of embezzling N84 billion. Despite this, Bello has evaded both the EFCC and court appearances, prompting the EFCC to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Amidst his disappearance, His legal team argues that Bello is willing to address the charges, but fears bias in the legal process claiming that he might not receive fair hearing and justice during trial.

They also moved the court to set aside the ex-parte order for his arrest claiming that at the time the order was given, Bello had not yet received the charge!

Meanwhile, the EFCC has served the charges to Bello’s lawyer as per court directive.

Political Saga: Yahaya Bello says EFCC is illegal

The court relied on substituted service, which is applicable when it has become impossible to effect personal service of a legal process on a defendant, highlighting the seriousness of the allegations.

Despite attempts to dismiss the charges, Bello’s legal team has resorted to questioning the legality of the EFCC itself, claiming it was established without proper consultation with state governments.

While Bello’s evasion raises suspicions, it adds to the intrigue of his political saga. Nigerians eagerly await the next twist in this unfolding drama.
