The Nigerian movie industry has yet again, been thrown into mourning after the news of the death of another veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe, surfaced on social media on Wednesday.
Stanley Nwoko, a movie producer had announced the actor’s demise via a post on his Instagram page.
While grieving the actor, Nwoko had written:
“What caused his death is yet to be reviewed. Rest in peace, good actor.”
Adigwe’s death is coming two weeks after Junior Pope and three other Nollywood actors lost their lives in a boat accident in Anam River.
The late actor had gained recognition mainly for portraying fatherly characters in Nollywood films.
His breakthrough role had arrived when he played the part of Mr. B in the popular sitcom “Basi and Company.”
Adigwe was well-known for the movies: “Living in Bondage”, “Breaking Free (2019), and many other blockbusters.
Born in Enugu State, the actor eventually relocated to Austria, where he completed his primary and secondary education.
Within the last four months and half in 2024, the Nollywood industry has lost six of its notable actors to the cold hands of death.
These actors included: Sisi Quadri, Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Andy Best, Jumoke Aderounmu and Junior Pope.
