Cubana Chief Priest Appears in Court for Continued Trial on Naira Abuse Charges

Renowned Nigerian socialite, Cubana Chief Priest, has reportedly arrived at the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State for the recommencement of his Naira abuse trial.

Recall that on April 16, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a three-count charge against him over purported abuse of the Naira note.

He was subsequently arraigned the following day at the Federal High court in Lagos State and when the charges were read during the court sitting, the social media celebrity pleaded not guilty to them.

Kehinde Ogundare, the judge, then granted him bail in the sum of 10 million Naira with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The judge also ruled that the bail conditions had to be concluded within seven days.

Eventually, Cubana Chief Priest was released to his lawyer who had to give an undertaken to present him to court at a later date with the threat that he (Cubana) will be remanded in a correctional facility if his lawyer fails to do so.
