Manchester City have secured their fourth consecutive Premier League title following a decisive 3-1 victory over West Ham United on the final day of the season. Pep Guardiola’s team has now won six of the last seven Premier League titles, demonstrating their dominance over the past decade. Despite a strong challenge from Arsenal this season, City’s stars delivered when it mattered most, a habit they have perfected in recent years.

The only season Manchester City failed to clinch the title in the past seven years was the 2019/20 campaign, widely regarded as the COVID-19 season, when Liverpool emerged victorious. Prior to the last two seasons, Liverpool was the primary challenger to City’s supremacy, but Arsenal has now stepped into that role.

Unlike last season, when Arsenal’s title aspirations crumbled in April, the Gunners fought until the final day this campaign. A key factor in Arsenal’s improved performance was their acquisition of Declan Rice for £105 million, beating Manchester City to his signature. Rice added defensive stability and creative flair to Arsenal’s midfield, significantly enhancing their overall play.

However, it was another Englishman, Phil Foden, who starred for Manchester City in the absence of the injured Kevin De Bruyne. Foden’s performances were instrumental, and it is hard to imagine City clinching the title without his contributions.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City had title-worthy seasons, but City’s flawless run after drawing with Arsenal on March 31st set them apart. In contrast, Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Aston Villa in April and dropped points against mid-table Fulham proved costly.

In the end, Manchester City showcased their championship pedigree, winning every crucial match in the season’s final stages. This relentless winning mentality secured their place at the top of the Premier League once again.
