The state governor, Dapo Abiodun, has been urged to put the health information managers’ service plan into effect by Mrs. Rasheedat Obabiyi the newly elected chairperson of the Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Ogun State.

According to Obabiyi, this action will undoubtedly improve the health personnel’ morale and productivity.

The state’s citizens’ well-being has significantly improved, according to the labor leader, thanks to Governor Abiodun’s concerted efforts to reform the health system.

The union expressed gratitude to the governor for his unwavering dedication to the well-being of the state’s health records and information managers, stating that his actions have motivated them to pursue excellence and do their duties with diligence.

Obabiyi expressed gratitude to all those involved in the recent success of the association’s elections, including the state commissioner for health, Dr. Tomi Coker, The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Kayode Oladehinde, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola, the Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Primary Health Care Development Board, and others.

What they’re saying

“I’m writing to ask for your ongoing support as we start this new chapter, especially with the implementation of the service program for health information management experts,” she said.

“Accurate health data collection, timely notification of diseases that require reporting, and clear and concise presentation and analysis of health data in all Ogun State health facilities are the goals of our association.

“We are convinced that we can accomplish these objectives and build a better future for our members and the State as a whole with your help.”

Why this matters

This highlights Ogun health information managers’ call to develop a service system. Mrs. Rasheedat Obabiyi, the association’s recently elected chairperson, feels that this initiative will increase health professionals’ morale and productivity.

Final thoughts

This situation reflects a trend in healthcare professions where staff advocate for better recognition and working conditions. A well-defined scheme of service could incentivize experienced professionals to stay in their field and attract new talent.

This would ultimately benefit the healthcare system in Ogun State by ensuring a qualified workforce to manage crucial health data.
