A woman from Okenne, Kogi State, has raised alarm over her 32-year-old daughter, Hamidat Abdulrafiu, who went missing after traveling to meet a customer in Lokoja on June 18, 2024.

Hamidat’s mother, Mrs. Ramot Yakubu, informed City Round that her daughter’s phone has been unreachable since June 19. Despite tracing Hamidat to Abuja, there have been no reports of kidnapping or accidents, and efforts to find her have been unsuccessful, even after involving the police.

Mrs. Ramot explained that Hamidat, a businesswoman selling unisex clothes, frequently traveled to Lokoja to meet customers and collect payments. On the day she disappeared, Hamidat called her mother to confirm her arrival in Lokoja, but the next morning, Mrs. Ramot was unable to reach her daughter.

Mrs. Ramot contacted her other daughter at Federal University, Lokoja, who confirmed Hamidat had not visited her. Additionally, a friend staying with Hamidat reported that she left their accommodation around 8:00 PM on June 18 after receiving a call, leaving her belongings and uneaten food behind.

There have been no ransom demands or threats. John Stephen, a police officer from Adavi Police Divisional Headquarters, confirmed the family’s report, noting that Hamidat had never previously gone missing for an extended period.
