Paris Saint-Germain are making significant strides in their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, with the player’s agent, Roberto Calenda, arriving in Paris on Tuesday to accelerate the transfer.

Napoli are open to selling their star forward for €130 million this summer. Although no offers have come from Osimhen’s preferred destination, the English Premier League, PSG have emerged as the frontrunner for his signature. However, the French giants are unwilling to exceed €100 million, instead proposing a package deal involving cash plus three players.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly open to negotiating the €100 million plus players deal, according to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset. The publication reports that PSG are close to finalizing the transfer after fruitful discussions with Calenda.

“The Osimhen deal is nearing a turning point. The Nigerian’s agent, Roberto Calenda, flew to Paris to speak directly with PSG and it seems that the mission has yielded very positive results. After the market summit, the French club has apparently decided to close the deal, satisfying both Napoli and the player,” Sport Mediaset reported.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal’s progress, stating, “PSG are advancing in talks with Victor Osimhen’s camp as their interest is now getting concrete. Osimhen is keen on joining PSG and open to the move if they can agree on deal/fee with Napoli. He’d be very high on PSG’s list if one center striker left.”

Napoli remain confident that Calenda will secure a deal exceeding €100 million for Osimhen, aiming to conclude the transfer before the second phase of their pre-season. This sale is crucial for Napoli to pursue their prime replacement, Romelu Lukaku, whom Chelsea are valuing at no less than €35 million.

Despite lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League, particularly from Al Ahli, Osimhen remains focused on staying in Europe. Meanwhile, he continues pre-season training with Napoli, impressing new coach Antonio Conte with his professionalism, despite not being in the plans for the upcoming season.
