Gospel singer, Victoria Orenze, has addressed the issue around her use of the word “Jehovah El-Steeze” to describe God.
While some critics thought it was improper, Victoria said that “Steeze” reflects extraordinary flair, calmness, and natural beauty, drawing parallels to scriptural depictions of God’s majesty.
Victoria quoted scriptural texts that picture God as a fierce fire, radiant light, and a commanding force, underlining that God encompasses the traits of “Steeze”.
She inspired others to look beyond outward appearances and see God’s awe-inspiring presence. Victoria further stressed that the meaning of words like “Steeze” stays consistent even when used in informal circumstances.
She underlined that her understanding and revelation of God’s essence is anchored in scripture, not language or trends.
What they’re saying
She commented on X:
“Steeze is an English word in the dictionary that speaks about a person’s particular and outstanding method of doing things or style, as well as someone who maintains composure.
“God’s unique and magnificent approach, style, and composure astounds me. According to Scripture, He is a consuming fire. In Hebrews 12:29, it says that He is wrapped in light, which means that, He wears light.
“Psalm 104:2 states that the cloud is His chariot, whereas Psalm 104:3 describes His eyes as fire.
“Rev. 19:12, 1:14, and His voice sounded like thunder and many rivers. Another says that in His presence, mountains skip like rams (Psalm 114:1-8).
“He is more than just composure; all else created loses its composure before Him.He is not only clothed with light; He is light. Today He can ride on the cloud, tomorrow He will ride the wind. That is why I name Him Jehovah El Steeze. “I value comprehension and revelation over lingo and trends. Pause your trends and look to God.
“Finally, I’d want to point out that using the words “steeze” or “loose guard” as slang does not modify their meaning in English.
“ According to the scriptures, the ONE who watches me never sleeps or slumbers, thus I can confidently claim that my God does not and will never lose guard.
