Popular American singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been indicted in a Miami federal court for their alleged involvement in a $1 million wire fraud scheme. The indictment, issued on Friday, accuses the duo of making fraudulent payments through banks, which never went through, resulting in over $1 million in ill-gotten property.
Kingston and Turner face one count of conspiracy to commit fraud and five counts of wire fraud. The charges stem from their alleged attempts to defraud sellers of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods using fraudulent documents.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida stated that the defendants “unjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed monetary payment transfers.”
This indictment follows Sean Kingston’s arrest in May 2024 in California. On the same day, authorities raided his South Florida mansion and arrested his mother. The case has drawn significant attention, marking a dramatic turn for the singer known for his hit songs.
