As Nigerians have trooped out in their respective states to protest the bad living conditions under President Tinubu’s administration, it has been found that in most of the strategic areas in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital were deserted and seemed abandoned.
Photos posted to X (formerly Twitter) revealed that the Flashpoint areas such as Ganaja Junction, Government House Road, Paparanda and NATACO were barricaded by security agents of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, local vigilantes, and Federal Road Safety Corps.
In addition, it was also observed that most of the shops in Lokoja were under lock and key over fear of criminals looting the shops under the guise of being protesters.
Motorists, commercial motorcyclists and tricycle riders were however, seen going about their daily activities.
