American rapper and record producer, Rick Ross is currently under a lawsuit for failing to make Car & Bike Show accessible for wheelchair-bound people. In one of the cases that Ross faced in the courts, a disabled man Darris Straughter sought legal action against the rapper after the man was unable to attend the event at ‘The Promised Land’, the rappers’ mansion in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Straughter, who has been paralyzed from the neck down due to a spinal cord injury in 2018, has posited that he bought a ticket and made the necessary travel arrangements only to be denied entry into the event. Before the event began he had called the organizers informing them of his needs two weeks before the event.
In the suit, the plaintiff accuses the defendants of breaching the contract and unjust enrichment and violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. Straughter has brought a claim in damages and an injunction so that such operations be made accessible to disabled persons in the future.
