4 PDP Politicians who Could Toll FFK’s Route

Within two years of each of the country’s last three general elections, political observers have repeatedly noted politicians’ “crisscrossing” behavior in search of their next paycheck, appointment, and everything else, with little regard for the political legacies and precedents they are setting for the next generation.

Just a week ago, Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, jumped ship from the PDP to the APC, which he insulted, disparaged, and reprimanded several times during the last six years of the party in power, swearing by God that he will never leave the PDP and swearing never to join the APC, only to join the party last week; this alludes to the fact that there are only permanent interests in politics.

In light of previous defections, like Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross-Rivers State, and Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, we’ve chosen to gamble on some high-profile politicians switching sides in the run-up to the 2023 elections.

Goodluck Jonathan:

Ebele Goodluck Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria, may enter the race for a second term in office using the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Ayodele Fayose:

It’s possible that Ayo Fayose, who was outwitted and maybe humiliated by the PDP to install the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, as the party’s leader in the south-west, also chose to jump ship and pursue his political aspirations at the APC during the recent election in the region.

Seyi Makinde:

As the sole PDP Governor in Southern Nigeria, Makinde is being courted by the APC due to his current status as a national PDP prize gem.

Ifeanyi Okowa:

Ifeanyi Okowa is yet another governor courted by the APC to improve the party’s South-South strategic positioning.
