An online publication about hiring for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has been disowned by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

This is stated in a statement made on Saturday in Abuja by Mr. Ja’afaru Ahmed, the board’s secretary.

“The board wishes to inform the general public that the alleged online publications did not originate from the board and should be disregarded.”

It said, “It also wishes to caution the public to be cautious of the actions of racketeers and fake recruitment syndicates.

” However, the board stated that the hiring into the next phase of the exercise will be duly communicated to the shortlisted candidates, according to the Federal Fire Service (FFS), which is presently under progress. The board also stated that applicants’ emails and phone messages from the registration procedure would be used for this.

In Essence

By disowning the online publication, the CDCFIB aims to clarify what information is official and accurate. This is crucial in an era where misinformation can spread rapidly, causing confusion and potentially leading to exploitation.

The board’s warning about racketeers and fake recruitment syndicates underscores the need to protect the public from scams. Recruitment fraud can lead to significant financial and emotional harm for job seekers, making it vital for authorities to proactively address such threats.

The statement reassures the public that official communications regarding recruitment will be made through specific, reliable channels.

This includes emails and phone messages from the registration process, ensuring that candidates receive accurate and timely information directly.
