On September 10, at Los Angeles, a deposition was scheduled for Elon Musk by U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) . Musk was late for this meeting because he traveled to Florida to attend the SpaceX rocket launch event.
The SEC has been looking into the 2022 acquisition of Twitter by Musk following his initial refusal to testify.
Musk’s lawyer told the commission that he was at the SpaceX launch.
Musk’s momentary action in delaying disclosure of twitter shareholding has potential of $156 million earnings hence a matter under investigation.
An SEC spokesperson said that federal securities laws would continue to be enforced.
Musk has previously clashed with the SEC, He accused the agency of harassment and stifling his free speech.
The SEC maintains that Musk’s actions warrant scrutiny, and the investigation is ongoing.
