The supped tension between Nigerian music giants Wizkid and Davido reached a boiling point on Friday night when the two superstars crossed paths at a London nightclub but ignored each other.
While DMW boss Davido was having a good time, throwing a party with his 30 Billion Gang present, Wizkid stormed the event to support his official DJ, DJ Tunez, who was on the wheels. The two artists, though in the same premises, did not utter a word to each other, neither did they exchange greetings, a situation that further catalysed the cold war between them.
Videos of that icy encounter shared by the host, Afrobeat Podcast host Adesope Olajide, surfaced online in no time. In the video, Wizkid is seen passing by the table where Davido was sitting without as much as turning in his direction to say ‘hi’. For the rest of the night, neither of the artists came anywhere close to each other till Wizkid eventually left.
Not very long afterwards, Wizkid went on to X to post: “Everybody Dey find Big Wizzy”, which many people felt was a subtle jab at Davido. This post went viral in a minute, and it was assumed by fans that this meant Wizkid was leading in the ongoing beef.
But the camp of Davido did not keep quiet. His aide, Isreal DMW, fired back at Wizkid on Instagram and labeled him an “online noise maker”. According to Isreal, Starboy started shaking when he saw Davido in the club. He further taunted Wizkid, stating that had Starboy said a word, a fight would have ensued because the 30BGs were ready.
But the drama didn’t stop there. Davido’s friend, Morgan DMW, wondered why Wizkid had to leave the club after being snubbed, suggesting there may be another face-off. He described him as an “online gangster,” fueling the fire even more.
The fans of the two artists immediately took to social media in a wild incendiary debate. Many took his side and hailed Wizkid, who had humbled Davido with his presence, while others mocked him, saying he ran away, hence the trending hashtag “Smallest Bird.”
