On Thursday, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri expressed his sorrow over the deaths of three people who were murdered in a collision involving a Toyota Hilux Van carrying some vigilantes who were part of his campaign team to the state’s Gella Mubi South region.
Speaking to his followers in Gella, Mubi South, Fintiri expressed his grief and requested that PDP members take a moment of silence in memory of the victims.
About 80 kilometers from Mubi Town, in the Hong Local Government Area, near Fadamareke, a crash took place.
The head of the vigilante group, Bako Kaura, the son of the leader of the Fintiri/Farauta vigilance organization, Adamu Kaura, and another passenger in the car were all killed.
The location of the tragedy, according to a local, is infamous for car accidents. He revealed that just before Fintiri’s convoy arrived, locals assisted in removing three dead bodies from the van.
Just last week, a truck that lost control nearly rammed into the governor’s convoy, leaving him just inches from death.
Two police officers were transported immediately to the state specialty hospital for treatment after the crash caused serious injuries to them.
