AFEX, an innovative company that combines agriculture, finance, and technology, is bringing significant changes to Africa’s agricultural industry. Started in 2014 by Ayodeji Balogun, AFEX wants to help make sure there is enough food for everyone in Africa.

Since it began, AFEX has helped many farmers, supported over 500,000 small farmers, processed more than 500,000 tons of grain, and made over $300 million in sales. Right now, AFEX works in three African countries and plans to grow to 10 countries in the next ten years.

ALEX’s goal is to make trading easier across Africa and connect it with the rest of the world. Ayodeji Balogun says, “We created AFEX to give small farmers more money and help with food security in Africa. Our aim is to be a key part of making trade work better within Africa.”

Food insecurity is a difficult problem that makes it hard for people to get and afford food. In Africa, this problem is made worse by less farming success, fewer chances for small farmers, and climate change. “We have more people than the food we need to feed them,” Balogun said. “Our farming success has gone down because we used to process more food in the past than we do now.”

Climate problems like droughts and floods are causing big trouble in African countries. AFEX says we need new ideas to solve these problems. “Now is the time to come up with new ways to help African farming when the climate is changing,” Balogun said.

AFEX is dedicated to making sure there is enough food for everyone in Africa. As the continent faces challenges like climate change and not having enough food, companies like AFEX are very important. With their plans to grow and their focus on helping small farmers, AFEX is ready to make a big difference in how farming works in Africa.
