The Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has pleaded guilty and promised to abide by the fines slammed on his airline by NCAA for violating consumer protection laws.
The NCAA, earlier in the week, commenced enforcement action against five airlines, including Air Peace, over violation of critical passengers’ rights. In response, Onyema conceded that his staff had committed the infractions and pledged to henceforth comply with every instruction from the authority.
In a statement given through the acting Director-General of NCAA, Chris Najomo, Onyema declared, “I have seen the lapses myself and cautioned my team. The NCAA is right in this matter, and we will ensure all refunds are processed within the required timeframe.”
By owning up to the mistakes and emphasizing adherence to NCAA regulations, Onyema is setting a notable example of accountability in the Nigerian aviation sector.
