It’s a new turnout for the Pensioners in Ondo State, as the Governor of Ondo state, Akeredolu has approved the increment of pensioners’ salaries in the state

This good news was announced by Mr. Kayode Ogundele, the Head of Service in the state, and made available in a Statement issued by the Press Officer of the ministry, Mr. Shina Adeyeye to news respondents on Tuesday.

The statement read, ” No fewer than 11,654 officers from the State Civil Service and 11,659 from the Local Governments’ Service who retired before January 1, 2020. The effective date of the present minimum wage regime would benefit from the new approval.”

Mr. Ogundele further thanked the Governor for paying attention to the plight of Pensioners in the state and taking cognizance of the need of the workers in the state when they retire.

Many Pensioners in various states have been treated with so much disdain we’ve seen cases where some state government does not pay Pensioners their salaries, keeping retired civil servants in poverty and lack of needs, most pensioners that should be resting have to take up private jobs to fend for themselves and their families.

This is an initiative that should be adopted by all state governments as pensioners deserve a right to be happy after retiring from civil service. Governor Akeredolu should be applauded for this.
