The husband of the late NAFDAC DG and former information minister, Dr Chike Akunyili has been murdered by gunmen in Anambra state.
Dr Chike Akunyili was reportedly killed by gunmen in Umuoji in Idemili North LGA of Anambra state on Tuesday evening.
According to our source, Dr Chike Akuyili was at an occasion in Onitsha, the said occasion was in honour of late Dora Akuyili and it was organised by University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA).
Dr Chike graced the occasion with his son Obum, where he made a donation of 500k to the association and spoke about his late wife’s achievements.
This is a death too many, and only God knows when this madness will stop in the east. It is not too late for the governors of the zone to rise up to the occasion.
