Anambra State has just banned the wearing of miniskirts as a school uniform in all the schools in the state.
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, announced this in Awka on Sunday, stating that the announcement of the ban had become necessary as schools begin resumption on Monday.
The ban has additionally, been announced to the Education Secretaries of public and private schools in the state.
“The acceptable length for school uniforms in the state remains knee length, and not above the knee, which is fast becoming the fashion trend in schools,’’ she remarked.
The commissioner reported that the Education Secretaries had been charged to ensure that schools complied with the ban so that the future of students in the state could be salvaged from indecency.
