Following the backlash from Ghanaian fans over their defeat to Uruguay, in Ghana’s final group H Game in the 2022 world cup tournament in Qatar, Andrew Ayew has reacted to the penalty he missed.
If we can recall, history repeated itself, as once again Ghana failed to utilize the awarded to them, into a goal. In the 2010 world cup in Qatar Asamoah Gyan also could not convert the penalty awarded to them into a goal.
Speaking about his missed penalty, Ayew blamed himself for missing the penalty. He further admitted that he is sad about the outcome of the game, but he is very optimistic about the future
“We had the opportunity to get to the next stage, I missed the Penalty,” Sportsworldghana. comquoted Ayew as saying.
“It’s difficult to take, we did not get it right. I am very optimistic about the future. I am sad but we will try and make it better.”
Ghana is our of the 2022 world game after losing 2-0 to Uruguay. Uruguay despite winning yesterday’s game is also out of the world cup
