Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte is all set to undergo immediate surgery after suffering acute abdominal pain earlier this morning, Wednesday, February 1.
Conte had been diagnosed with Cholecystitis and will have his gallbladder removed immediately.
As a result of the surgery, the Italian manager is expected to miss several football games.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s next Premier League fixture will be against defending champions Manchester City and Conte’s assistant, Cristian Stellini is expected to take charge of the Sunday fixture.
A statement on Wednesday from the football club read, “Antonio recently became ill with severe abdominal pain and after being diagnosed with cholecystitis, he will be undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder today (Wednesday) and will return after recuperating. Everyone at the club wishes him well and a safe recovery.”
