Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, said it was clear that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government lacked the capability to govern and has failed Nigerians.
On Thursday, Dr. Ortom during the commissioning of 65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Ojutaye-Iseyin road reconstructed by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, he expressed his worry over the turn of things in Nigeria.

“APC does not have the capacity to deliver good governance”, he said.
“In 2015, the mantle of leadership was given to the APC but from all indications to every Nigerian, they failed. Go and check the economic nature of our country then, how much was the rate of a dollar to naira then, what was the nature of our security before and now. We now have security problems all over the country, not even in one or two states but all over the country, and without adequate security no meaningful developments can be done except in PDP control states.
“Let us work hard and also continue to pray and as you are praying, either you are Christians or Muslims, let us also apply work, because all faith without work is dead; let us work hard so that come 2023 by the Grace of God we shall change the change”.

He also said that the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-controlled states were performing well by providing good governance in their various states despite the security and economic challenges facing the country.

Ortom said that PDP has demonstrated total commitment to the unity of the country and called on the Federal Government to rise to the challenges of insecurity by providing required leadership, adding that without security, there can be no development.
He also called on the PDP governors to work hard to bring change to the APC government in 2023 general elections.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, said the project was one of the projects that would play a major role in engineering a modern Oyo State, where the prosperity of the people through economic integration would serve as the fulcrum of decisions. He also said that the 65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin road had overtime been in a terrible state, and is a major link between Ibadan and Oke-Ogun, which is Oyo State’s food basket.
He expressed gratitude to governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State for honouring his invitation and he commiserated with him over the death of his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Christopher Dega, who was reported to be allegedly murdered a few days ago.
