Unidentified Gunmen have abducted Kawu Yakassai, the Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kaduna State Chapter.
According to reports, Yakassai was taken from his village in the Soba Local Government Area at about 9:00pm on Friday, August 25.
As at the time of filing this report, the abductors had yet to make any contact with the family of the victim or the Kaduna State APC chairman.
But, Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Governor, had condemned the abduction of the APC official.
The governor, in a terse statement he released through his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu, had ordered security agencies to go after the kidnappers and guarantee the safe return of the abducted victim.
The governor had also reiterated his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property of all the residents in the state, further adding that part of the steps taken to achieve security in Kaduna was to deploy 7,000 vigilantes to supplement the efforts of the conventional security agencies in the state.
