With less than 100 days to the 2023 general elections, the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA has reported that some politicians in Abia State, located in the South-East region of Nigeria were allegedly buying the electorates’ Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, for the sum of N5,000.
The APGA Chairman, Mr. Augustine Ehiemere, who had made the allegation during an unveiling at the party’s Campaign Council in Umuahia, Abia State capital had claimed that certain politicians were getting desperate, leading to them going about collecting the PINs in the electorates’ PVCs under the guise of giving them empowerment.
“This is nothing but an attempt to rig the 2023 elections. INEC and security agencies should rise to the occasion.”
Also, the APGA Chairman had asked the Nigerian security agencies in the state to warn their officers and men against being used by the ruling government in power to intimidate and harass members of the opposition party.
