Gunners clinched their second back-to-back league wins and the seventh in the last eight games by beating Everton 2-0 to draw level on points with table toppers Manchester City.
The Gunners scored early, nine minutes on the clock; a corner kick from Arsenal led to chaos in the box. The ball was not cleared by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford or Vitali Mykolenko and was powered in by Ezri Konsa from close range for his first goal for the club.
Arsenal kept the pressure on as Noni Madueke was narrowly wide with two efforts, and Mikel Merino missed the target with a header. Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya made a sharp save from Thierno Barry before half-time after Ben White put a header past his own keeper.
Gabriel then doubled Arsenal’s lead in the second half, heading in a White cross from close range 22 minutes remaining. Gabriel had seemed to injure his knee earlier but played on and scored his first goal of the season.

Everton were unable to reply before Gabriel’s goal, and only came close to making a breakthrough when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s header grazed past the post.
The triumph was Arsenal’s 12th win from 13 top-flight games, with one defeat along the way. Mikel Arteta’s team remained second in the standings but are now level on 21 points with leaders Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Everton’s record at Arsenal in the Premier League was also woeful, having won only once in their last 31 away games against the Gunners.
