Last night, the top European teams gave us a mixture of excitement and supremacy. Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Sporting CP booked their UEFA Champions League quarter-final matches.

At the Emirates, Arsenal beat a stubborn Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 to wrap up a 3-1 aggregate win. Eberechi Eze scored the opener with a stunning effort, and later Declan Rice curled home the second goal. Mikel Arteta’s guys have now gone 14 games unbeaten, and their next game will be against Sporting CP in the last eight.

The holders PSG were merciless at Stamford Bridge as they hammered Chelsea 3-0 to aggregate a thumping 8-2. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the one who broke the deadlock early; Bradley Barcola and Senny Mayulu got more goals to wipe away the home team’s dream of revival.

Over there in Spain, Real Madrid just scraped Manchester City with a 5-1 combined score and knocked out the Premier League winners for the third consecutive occasion. Vinícius Júnior was the main figure with two goals. The task also got harder for City when Bernardo Silva was sent off.

Meanwhile, Sporting CP achieved one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history as they overturned the 3-0 first-leg deficit to win the match 5-0 after extra time. Gonçalo Inácio, Pedro Gonçalves and Luis Suárez scored for the great comeback.
