UGabriel Jesus, Arsenal’s Brazilian forward, is ready to unleash his inner goal-scorer! After helping his team win 2-1 against Nottingham Forest, Jesus is vowing to change his “mindset” and become more ruthless in front of the net.
He’s already a valuable player who creates chances for others, but now he wants to add more goals to his game. Since joining Arsenal in 2022, he’s scored 19 goals in 56 games, and he knows he can do better.
“Sometimes it’s about the numbers, and sometimes it’s about watching how I play,” Jesus explained. “I’m close to scoring 100 Premier League goals – that’s not easy! I score in the Champions League and for Brazil, but I haven’t focused enough on scoring here, and that’s my mistake.”
So, what’s the plan? Jesus says he’ll spend more time in the penalty box and “try everything” to score more goals. His manager, Mikel Arteta, is thrilled with his determination.
“Gabi started winning the game two days ago,” Arteta said. “He had a knee injury, but he kept pushing to play and help the team. When you have that kind of spirit, good things happen! I’m really proud of him.”
Jesus overcame his knee trouble to shine against Forest, scoring the first goal and setting up the second for teammate Bukayo Saka. This win puts Arsenal second in the Premier League, just behind Liverpool, who they face this Sunday.
So, brace yourselves for a goal-hungry Jesus! He’s ready to fire Arsenal to the top of the table, one strike at a time!
