In what is likely to be one of the most shocking tales to have been heard, an attempt on the life of the husband of Nollywood star Mercy Johnson, Prince Odi Okojie, was ingeniously foiled by security. A group of armed men, suspected to be political thugs, raided the residence of the federal lawmaker in Edo State but were successfully foiled before carrying out their deadly plan.
The gunmen, who drove in a Lexus GX 470 with a Rivers State number, invaded the residence of Okojie, who represents Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency. His media aide, Michael Ihaza, said two thugs escaped, while two were apprehended. Quoting the suspects during interrogation, he said they confessed that they were sent by leaders of the People’s Democratic Party in the area.
The shocking incident has sent ripples on social media, but Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Okojie, are yet to comment publicly on the horrific attack.
