Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi have dismissed claims of a potential joint presidential ticket for the 2027 elections.
The rumors emerged after photos of their breakfast meeting in Adamawa State went viral. The meeting was linked to Obi’s visit as a keynote speaker for the 20th anniversary of the American University of Nigeria, founded by Atiku.
Both camps made it clear that the meeting was a private reunion, not a political strategy. There have been speculations of an opposition alliance between Atiku, Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, but their teams have denied that the meeting had any political undertone.
