The Director-General of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organization, Aminu Tambuwal, has disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is quietly waiting for the five aggrieved governors to choose their preferred candidate in the upcoming 2023 presidential election before it takes decisive action against them.
Recall that the governors had reportedly met with the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in London, where the APC standard bearer was revealed to have lobbied for the endorsement of the five governors during the marathon meeting which was held on Tuesday, December 27.
In light of this, the PDP had announced that it was not aware of their parley with the ruling party’s presidential candidate, highlighting that as far it was concerned, the governors were in the UK on vacation.
PDP, had, however, threatened to punish the governors for any anti-party declarations/moves, stressing that it could discipline the recalcitrant governors.
The governors had then dared the national leadership of the party to proceed with the threat to sanction (discipline) them for supporting any other presidential candidate instead of Atiku while noting that they had done nothing wrong to deserve sanction by the party.
