Gunmen alleged to be cultists have once again, killed someone. This time, the killing happened at the popular Aroma junction in Awka, Anambra State capital.
The shooting of the youth on Wednesday evening led to chaos, with traders in the area quickly closing their shops and running for safety.
The deceased, was reported to hail from Amudo Village in Awka, and had been a tricycle revenue collector who was formerly a Keke driver himself.
A source had reported that the assailants had trailed him from Ifite —a mostly student metropolis before shooting him at close range at a nearby filling station that served as a popular bus stop for buses and tricycles.
Business outfits in the area were compelled to close shops, and roadside traders had equally abandoned their trading articles and fled.
The major roads in the vicinity of the incident immediately became empty, just as many people discarded their cars and took to their heels.
Awka city has been witnessing cult-related killings for quite some time now, with gangs killing their rivals in broad daylight.
