Memphis Depay has come out to debunk this report, by revealing that the club pays him his salary
Depay explained that it is normal for Barcelona to balance its account as it is a business Enterprise. But he made it clear that despite their financial situations they always get their salaries.
Reports circulated last month that Barcelona couldn’t sell Frenkie de jong because they owe him a lot of money. Depay has debunked this too, as he revealed that they are just players and do not know what goes inside the club, but the club does not default in payment of salaries as they pay him as well as Frenkie de jong.
“As a player, you don’t always know exactly what’s going on inside the club. Barça is a business, like any other club. The numbers are important and the interests are big. What I know is that I was always paid my salary… Yes, Frenkie too,” he was quoted to have said as per a report from Mundo Deportivo.
This he knows because of the close relationship he shares with Frenkie de jong, as they are good friends who visit each other and do some fun stuff, they also discuss their situations at the club.
“Frenkie de Jong has become a good friend in the last year and a half. We eat together regularly, we go to each other’s houses, and sometimes we do fun things together. Of course, we talk to each other about our respective situations at the club,” Depay admitted.,
