Bala Mohammed, the Bauchi State Governor, has agreed to the dissolution of all the Local Government Caretaker Committees in the state, with immediate effect.
The directive disbanding the committees was contained in a short media statement signed by Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, and made available to news men on Tuesday, July 18.
Recall that the dissolved caretaker committees for the 20 Local Government Areas, LGAs were only inaugurated in 2022, after the end of the tenure of the elected council heads.
The State Governor had in the statement, directed the Chairmen of the Local Government Caretaker Committees to present the affairs of the local governments to their various Heads of Administration until the appointment of substantive caretaker committees was approved.
