Bayern Munich are believed to have moved a step closer to signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown after the young German agreed a verbal contract with the Bavarians, as interest from Arsenal mounts.

The Bavarians identified Brown as a top summer target during the rebuilding phase of the squad that is to be headed up by Vincent Kompany, and the youngster is said to have agreed a contract that would keep him in Bavaria until 2031.

The German is considered to be one of the finest young talents in the Bundesliga after a string of performances for Frankfurt. His versatility sees him often employed at either left back or right back, but he is also adept playing as a winger.

Despite having agreed terms with the 22-year-old, however, there is no agreement between the two clubs. Markus Krosche, the Frankfurt director of sport, is holding out for 60 million euros for Brown.

Several European giants have been alerted to the situation, with both Manchester City and Real Madrid also keeping a close eye on the negotiations, alongside Arsenal who have identified the talented young German international as a potential transfer target of their own. He scored four times for Frankfurt last term as well as six assists, registering a remarkable total of 42 appearances across all competitions.

This included two goals as he made his way into the German national squad as a warm-up for the World Cup that he could feature in 2026. Bayern will look to finalise the deal in the next few weeks to secure a top-quality young talent before their rival teams make their intentions clear.
