Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti announced that Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni will be back in the squad for tomorrow’s Champions League match against Stuttgart following spells out through injury. The reigning champions, starting the defense of their title at the Santiago Bernabeu, have been boosted by the availability of some major players.
Bellingham, 21, and Tchouameni, 24, had missed recent matches due to injury but are now fit to contribute. Brazilian defender Eder Militao, who sat out training on Monday should also be fit for the clash. Brahim Diaz will miss out due to injury.
Ancelotti, meanwhile, insisted that the squad is ready: “Bellingham is good, just like Tchouameni is good, and Militao too for tomorrow. We have two important players back but unfortunately, we’ve lost another important player in Brahim.”
Bellingham, of course, was pivotal in Madrid’s charge to last season’s final against Borussia Dortmund and had not played since pulling a calf muscle in August that ruled him out for four La Liga games. Team-mate Dani Carvajal described his return as “fantastic news” – highlighting the England international’s influence both on and off the pitch.
Ancelotti also reiterated Real Madrid’s desire to win the competition once more, as he said, “The Champions League is special for Real Madrid, and we will try to compete until the end.”
With 15 titles under their belt, Los Blancos are still the team to beat, and their journey to another conquest begins with a promising return to full strength.
