In the midst of the cruel economic situation in the country, former lawmaker, Ben Murray-Bruce, has recommended for both the incoming minister of health and the federal government to institute a free condom distribution enterprise.
According to Murray-Bruce, the suggestion was made in regards to the intensifying economic challenges facing Nigerians, which had seriously affected the middle class and aggravated poverty levels.
Mr Murray-Bruce had made his opinion known via a post he shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, August 14.
In the post, the ex-lawmaker was confident that ensuring the availability of contraceptives to the layman was an important step in tempering a potential population escalation.
He had tweeted
“In light of the worsening economic challenges that faces Nigeria, a lot f which have severely affected the middle class and increased the levels of poverty, it is of vital importance for the Federal Government and the incoming Minister of Health to institute a free condom distribution initiative.”
